What it is

A bar crawl that plans itself

Routes

Routes, not guesswork

Crawls are built from actual bars near you and put in the shortest walking order, so you never double back to the bar next door. Browse them as cards or on a map, and filter by how far you'll travel and whether you'll be walking it.

Check in

Points you actually earned

Three points a bar — six at the sponsoring bar on a Sponsored crawl. Tap I'm Here or scan the bar's QR code when you arrive and your phone confirms you're really there — so the leaderboard is people who went out, not people who tapped a button at home.

Ranks

Bragging rights, close to home

Every point lands on a leaderboard. Check the whole world, or just the crawlers within a few miles of you. The top three near you wear gold, silver and bronze medals on their profile, and the world's number one wears the crown — for as long as they can hold it.

Teams

Your team, your crest

Start a team, give it a crest and a motto, and invite your friends. When two or more of you finish a crawl together, it counts for the team — and teams have a leaderboard of their own.

How it works

Four steps, one night

1

Pick how big a night you want

Three bars or twenty. Choose a tier, then grab a ready-made crawl near you or build your own from the bar list.

2

Bring your crew

Invite friends or a whole team. Everyone sees the same route, the same stops and the same running score.

3

Check in as you go

Tap when you arrive at each bar. Rate it, post a photo, and see what everyone else thought of the place before you order.

4

Finish and bank the points

Finish the crawl and every stop you checked in at banks its points. Points open the bigger tiers and move you up the rankings in your city.

The tiers

Pay for it, or play for it.

The first tier is free forever. Every other tier opens two ways — a one-time payment, or enough points earned from crawls you've finished. Bigger tiers cost more because they're worth more points. Your choice, and the points route never expires.

Payments open at launch through Google Play and the App Store. During alpha, testers open Basic, Advanced and Legendary with an unlock code.

Each tile is a tier: how many bars a crawl in it can have, and what opens it — a one-time price or the points shown.

All three for $20 — $30 bought separately, so you keep $10. Open one now and the rest still come with the same third off whenever you want them.

Anyone can upload a crawl of any tier to the public library, whether or not they've opened that tier themselves.

Make your own

Nothing stopping you building it

Build your own crawl

Ready-made routes are just the starting point. Pick whichever bars you want out of the 340+ already on here, put them in the order you like, name it and go. Bar missing? Add it from the sidewalk outside — tap Use my location and it pins the exact spot for us to check.

Keep it to yourself, share it with your friends, or send it to the library so anyone in the city can run it.

Put on an event

An event is a crawl with a start time on it. Build the route, set when it kicks off, and everyone signs up and goes together instead of trickling in — birthdays, fundraisers, a bar's own themed night.

It lands on the Events page for your city, so people who've never heard of you can still find it and show up.

Getting home

A ride is always one tap away

Pub Crawler is about a good night out, not a reckless one. Getting home safely is built into the app rather than buried in the terms.

  • Uber and Lyft links on every stop, pre-filled with the next bar
  • Walking distance shown before you commit to a crawl, so you know what you're in for
  • Any stop that's too far to walk is flagged as a ride, not a stroll
  • Skip a bar any time — no points for it, and the route adjusts

Please drink responsibly.

You must be 21 or older to use Pub Crawler.

For bar owners

Your bar is probably already on here

Pub Crawler routes drinkers to real bars all night long. If one of those bars is yours, claiming it is free — and a Bar Owner Pack puts it on the routes, including the last stop of the night, from $10 a month after alpha.

Claim your listing

Free. Verify you own the place and you get your own blurb, 2 photos and check-in QR codes, so crawlers see what you want them to see instead of a blank space.

Land on more routes

Crawls are built around bars people want to visit. A claimed, well-described listing gets picked more often than an empty one.

Questions

The usual ones

Does it cost anything?

Only if you want it to. The Baby Crawler tier is free forever. The other three open with a one-time payment — $5, $10 and $15, or $20 for all three together — or by earning the points instead: 50, 300 and 1,200. Paying is a shortcut, never a requirement, and there's no subscription.

Which cities is it in?

Forty-two and counting. Texas: El Paso, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, Dallas, Fort Worth, Arlington, the DFW suburbs, Corpus Christi, Lubbock and Killeen / Fort Cavazos. New Mexico: Las Cruces. Oklahoma: Oklahoma City and Lawton. Colorado: Colorado Springs. Arizona: Tucson and Sierra Vista. Kansas & Missouri: Kansas City (with Leavenworth), Springfield, Fort Leonard Wood and Junction City / Manhattan. Louisiana: Shreveport and Leesville. Georgia: Atlanta, Savannah, Augusta and Columbus. Alabama: Dothan / Enterprise. Florida: Tallahassee. Tennessee & Kentucky: Nashville, Clarksville, Louisville and Radcliff / Elizabethtown. The Carolinas: Raleigh-Durham, Fayetteville and Columbia. Virginia: Richmond. New York: Syracuse and Watertown. Northwest: Portland, Tacoma and Fairbanks. Every city has crawls ready to walk, and any bar can be added to a crawl you build yourself.

What if my favourite bar isn't listed?

Add it. There's an "Add a bar" option in the crawl builder. Every submission gets checked by a human before it goes public, so the list stays made of real places instead of somebody's back garden.

Do I need to download anything?

Not right now. Pub Crawler runs in your phone's browser — open the app and add it to your home screen if you want it to feel native. App store versions are on the way.

Is this just for drinking?

It's for the night out. Plenty of the bars on here do food, music, games and patios, and nothing in the app requires you to drink alcohol to check in, score a stop or finish a crawl.

Stop planning. Start crawling.

Free to open, free to finish, and there's already a route near you.
